The Charleston Museum

Spend a day with your family at The Charleston Museum exploring their collection that includes a dinosaur, an Egyptian mummy, a polar bear, and so much more. Experience Kidstory, a hands-on exhibit where children can discover Charleston’s history and natural environment. They offer many children and family activities year round, including Toddler Days, Family Fun Events, and Kid Tours. Join us for events such as Brownie and Jr. Girl Scout Badge Workshops, Home School History Days, special workshops and even birthday parties. Hours: Monday- Saturday 9-5, Sundays 1-5.

Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry

The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) is the place where children and families experience the magic of hands-on learning.  Come enjoy the Medieval Creativity Castle, Raceways, WaterWise, The Charleston Market, Lowcountry Pirate Ship, Infant & Toddler Playspace, Awesome Art Room and the Children’s Garden. Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center

The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center (DNLCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving victims of child abuse and neglect in Charleston and Berkeley counties.  Their mission is to keep children safe from abuse, and when abuse occurs, to work with our community to bring healing to these children and their families. By bringing together child protective services, law enforcement, medical, legal, educational, and mental health professionals, DNLCC provides a coordinated approach to helping children and their families at no cost. Kiawah Island Golf Resort Nature Program

The Heron Park Nature Center is located in the heart of Kiawah Island Golf Resort and is the headquarters for the Island’s Nature Program. Through year-round exciting educational programs, our Naturalists are dedicated to introducing children and adults to the beauty and importance of our unique barrier island. The Nature Center is also home to several different species of wildlife found in and around Kiawah Island.   Everyone is welcome and admission to the Nature Center is free.

The Lowcountry Affiliate is the local partner for the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through annual events like the Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®, they have invested more than $3.5 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects. Seventy-five percent of net proceeds stay in the 13-county service area, while the remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support research, and educational and scientific programs around the world.
